zenren, i admire your work. i tolerate/admire the crab/scorpion/mutant in reasonable doses.

BUT if you lost the Frad in this particular piece, and substituted an "slh" i believe it would improve and have the proper perspective.

I have to admit red is not the colour I prefer, but I'll try to do something for the slh-shines-with-a-light-i-admire-but-do-not-pretend-to-understand club >;=))

Regarding to "slh fred" do you mean the original logo?
Where can I get it... in Vector format?
Thanks for your visit and comment.. and answer. Regards

I start to do something adding the link to .xcf file and changing the licence from CC by-sa to GPL as you can see on kde-look; so if someone likes to make some changes is free to do them

This is the link to .xcf file

i thought his/her** name, being a Berliner, was F.r.("a" umlaut).d. . . and i can't be assed to enable the umlauts.

@zenren: thanks for all the good stuff.

**a great mascot (if there is such a thing... the Milwaukee Sausages being an example of NOT great mascots... the list of NOT great mascots is waylonger than the great) a great mascot oughter be of indeterminate or changeable sex, thereby having the ability to be all things to all people... like Pat on Saturday Night Live. it works for some species of fish (african cichlids?) some legitimate scorpions, and Lou Seal of San Francisco. . . why not Frad? Frad is not afraid. . . to get in touch with all his/her/its sides. . . and to be. . . all that Frad can be. d8-p

what i meant was, substitute the letters "slh" for the picture of the scorpion. no scorpion, only the letters "slh", sitting there emanating light. letters and light in any color which pleases you and your eye.

zenren thanks again for the good stuff, ike.

Sorry Ike, I don't see where the "slh" letters are in the picture.
I just wrote "aptosid" and "apt O sid",
I never wrote "slh"
Thank you in advance for you answer.

dear zenren, what i mean is to not have the crab in your picture.

instead insert the letters "slh" where the crab is, at the point of the knife/spear.

i'll try and draw something so you can see what i mean.

sorry to waste your time. all the best,

ike.

Light blue and Red do not go well together (my opinion). If you use either the blue or blue-green shades OR the orange-red shades with Red, the contrast will be low. Wall papers, as I use, should not pop out, they are backgrounds. So contrast of colors should be low.

Nice work otherwise, something I liked after a long time.

fiuuuuu sorry again for my poor mind and my poor english, IKe.
Who knows why, I had understood the opposite.

So what you mean is to remove the crab and put the word "slh"...
Well I think it could be a nice new idea... and now I need a good brainstorm about it eh eh
Thank you for your comments Ike.

... at the end, often I like to free the creation ...
Moreover I think the wallpaper is often covered by the programs window, so for the few time the desktop is free it can be beautiful to see something contrasted

But at the and again you are right, they are backgrounds.
So thank you for your comment and suggestions.

free the creation and the creator.

some of my wallpapers i allow icons on, others that i really love i won't allow it, like some of my favorite views and pictures of friends no longer with us. those i just like to gaze at sometimes. like looking out the window, it's a nice break from work.

my boss (ME) heartily endorses it (gazing at pleasing/inspiring stuff) 8-D

Hi Zenren,

Just to say thanks for the new wallpaper. I find it grows on me. I like more now than when I first saw it. The colors are interesting too.

I am so envious of people with artistic and design skills.

The font are sidux bold for "aptosid" and subpear for "slh"

Post subject: religious iconography/balance.
took me a minute to find the link to it in your original post, zenren.

i really liked this when i first saw it and i'm liking it better every time i look at it.

it's got such nice balance and harmony, both in color and composition, but it's exciting at the same time. and it recalls buddhist religious imagery, with its reminder of a lotus blossom opening, and the brightly burning halo of light that bathes the being of the Enlightened One. it is perfect zenren... really.

take it literally or tongue in cheek? up to the beholder to decide.

to be honest i was having trouble letting go of sidux, the name/color schemes/artwork, but what you've done here makes sidux look like water-under-the-bridge, the past, old fashioned.

thanks again, ike.

Hi Ikenithai
I added the link in the post about the new slh version too.

I like your buddhist view of this picture. Thanks for it.
Great if you appreciate.
Me too liked the old sidux art and I produced several sidux wallpapers ... but a new start happened. We hope the best for this new version.
All the best for you.

Post subject: RE: Re: eyepopping.
Good work zenren, I'm using you're wallpaper now too. I find the current aptosid theme too dark, so I've got your background and a sidux-momos login screen. The combination is not very harmonious, but at least it's not black. If you feel inspired, could you build a login and bootsplash that match your background? If it's too much work please ignore the request, but I think others would like the same.

Post subject: RE: Re: eyepopping.
I'm late, sorry mr browe. I have been busy a lot.
Thanks for the good commnent. I was already thinking about login and bootsplash. Now I'm working around them so I hope to satisfy your request. In few time there will be some news.
