The site is online again. It was temporary down because of the alioth-infrastructure changes (Which are now getting usable step by step again).

Iceweasel 5.0 is in Debian experimental already, for those who are interested. No need to use 3rd party repos.
Greetings,
Chris

One thing I don't like in Iceweasel 5 is that when I write something in the address-field and hit enter I will come to the google search for that something I wrote. Before in older Iceweasel I came directly to the site of the first search-result of the google site (like hitting the "I feel lucky" button on google site). Is that possibly for me to change?

EDIT:

As it feels like a tendency to not get any answers on my questions here on the forum I have to try to answer myself Wink

I found a solution. In "about:config" preference name Keyword.URL was set to DEFAULT and there where no value on the string. I changed the string value to the same as the "old" iceweasel "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=" and now it is like I want it. It is the "&gfns=1" part which do what I want I think

Hm... I've always been redirected to the google result page by Iceweasel this way.

Iceweasel 5 is in the Aptosid repos now, we maintain it there until it will migrate into Debian Sid.
Greetings,
Chris

thanks:
since the topic is quite general, I post the first questions:
1. Can I change the gui to have an abort icon again?
2. Can I change the gui so that the tabs are again over the page and not directly under the menu?

Thanks

What do you mean, the button to stop the loading of a page?
If so: it is still here, in the default layout it is just integrated into the location bar and shares the space with 'refresh'. If you don't like that: Right click -> Customize -> Move the buttons around. You can position refresh and abort separately and they will appear in the usual way if not placed directly behind the location bar. But really, why not just hit ESC, way easier…

Look out for the "Tabs on Top" option in the menu. for me its with the iceweasel menu-button -> Preferences.

For menu-button see this nice tweak: http://glandium.org/blog/?p=1554
and for the record: i test aurora builds (currently: 7.0a2) from the mozilla.debian.org, so your mileage may vary, but this used to work in 5.0 before for me…
