| I was just noticing this:
Code:
# apt-show-versions modconf
modconf 0.3.11 installed: No available version in archive
and was wondering if it is deprecated and safe to remove. |

| Modconf is strongly deprecated since kernel 2.4.0, in other words for more than a decade. |

Well, I can not remember ever installing it explicitly, and it removes cleanly so it's gone now |

Code:
pt-cache policy modconf
modconf:
Installed: 0.3.11
Candidate: 0.3.11
Version table:
*** 0.3.11 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
does that mean it is not on any mirror available but still installed? So it must have been on the iso? |

Yes it was in the last releases iso and 0.3.11 is still in Debian stable.
It is not in sid anymore and hence won't be in 2011-02 and there should be no problems removing it. |
