When reaching the KDM login screen the keyboard becomes totally unresponsive. The mouse cursor moves but does not act on clicking. Randomly it allowes to type the password, just to hang after that.
After reading all related (and more) in the forum and on the net, I ssh-ed from another computer to access the Xorg.0.log file, without stopping the unresponsive computer. I found the following at the end of the file
      Code:
[   133.459] [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.

running xorg 1.11 and installed nouveau according to http://aptosid.com/index.php?module=wikula&tag=GoNvidia

now and then, perhaps 1 out of 10, I manage to get it up and running. Once running, no strange behavior occurs.

Any suggestions are welcome, I just reached the end of my knowledge. Thanks, Jurgen
