Many years ago I saw something strange at Apple Computer in Cupertino, CA
A really nice automobile without state license plates... it has always been true... even before the bar code later.
Some people leave an indelible mark in life, Steve Jobs certainly is one who has. |

| RIP Steve Jobs...a real visionary that will be missed. Even though I'm not a big fan of Apple, their innovations are quite astounding |

Kids told me few hours back.
May his soul rest in peace.

| Although I admire his work on UI and ideas, and he indeed passed while still too young, in practical terms I think he might have done more harm than good to the computer industry... It seems acceptable by many now to let someone else control the things you bought (and should be yours). People sacrifice freedom for cool... His untimely death will only contribute to his "god like" status, which I find incredibly misplaced. Only one (insignificant) man's opinion, of course. |

| He started with $1200.00 (borrowed) in a garage, and no college education -- what an amazing story of entrepreneurship at its best! |

| Yes he was quite a story. I'll confess I have an apple or two, but for the most part only use them for specific software. Damn he was my age too. Makes ya think. He will be missed. |

Might his soul rest in peace.
There are two sides of Apple. I'll never understand their lock in policy but: for more than two decades these boxes were benchmark for graphics, useability and aesthetics. This was and is inspiring ... look at the beauty of modern Linux desktops! Surely some coders had an eye at some of Apple's eyecandies.
And ... my guilty pleasure is an iPad. It will be my last tablet by Apple, but theirs was the first I really found usable. But now: there is competition. With a Linux kernel and better ways to swap data (having to use itunes to transfer data is just madness). But still: it's a marvel, and tablets are here now. Steve Jobs was a vital part in starting off that hype. |

| Steve Wozniak (virtually forgotten) is the real creator of Apple. Steve Jobs was a great motivator and brilliant salesman. |

Steve Jobs may have been a visionary in some ways, but (Cr)apple products have always been very overpriced, and massively overhyped. The last quality product they made was the IIE. They somehow managed to give many people the (false) idea thai ownong an iPod, Ipad, etc... somehow made you cool. Its not what you own, but who you are, your knowlege, your experience, your attitudes.
(Cr)apple has done almost irreparable damage to the computer industry, and to everyone who bought their marketing hype. |

| But still. There is a very close connection between Steve Jobs and Debian. Jobs owned Pixar between 1986 and 2006. So ... Debian's code names from Toy Story ... |

Wonder if Pixar ever used Debian in the rendering farms that build the animations for their films. |
