I sucessfully tested my pocketbook with debian squeeze on my Thinkpad T42.
I'm now running aptosid 2011-02 (xfce) on a Thinkpad a30, but get errors when connecting the pocketbook to it.
(I'm pretty sure it workt with the fresh install, but I did a distupgrade).
here is the /var/log/syslog part:
      Code:
kernel: [11032.000194] usb 2-2: USB disconnect, device number 34

EDIT
used the cd to test the "plain" aptosid 2011-02:
Same Problem. So aptosid doesn't work with default kernel, nor the new 3.0.something kernel.

my t43 running squezze with kernel 2.6.32-5-686 works.

Wil try the other hardware with a knoppix cd later

EDIT 2:
unfortunatelly the fdisk output of this device is this:
      Code:
Disk /dev/sdb: 1001 MB, 1001078784 bytes
31 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1017 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1922 * 512 = 984064 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System

my squeeze mounts it this way nevertheless:
/dev/sdb on /media/ (2) type vfat

Of course I could add a partition table, but I don't know what that does to the divice...
