| No good news. I do use Sun-Java because TVBrowser does not work correctly with OpenJDK... But thanks for the warning. |

| As the request for removing sun-java packages is done, does anyone have any suggestions regarding openjdk? Are there any major changes between 6 and 7? |

yes you can...I have it installed and it works. Found instructions here:
http://pkill-9.com/install-java-1-7-ubu ... edora-rpm/
Note: The instructions for Ubuntu but they are applicable to Debian too.
I also hope OpenJDK will be able to run java programs and browser applets just as well as the Sun/Oracle Java. |

according to tvbrowser :

maybe you should address any tvbrowser problems with openjdk, to them. |
