Hello,
From time to time but not in specific intervals the DVD opens without any apparent reason (i.e., the PC is idle).

That happens only in one PC with aptosid 386.
Please note that the disk was transferred (with the OS) from an older PC that was broken.

Apart for that I have no other problem.

In windows this is a common virus infection problem but what can be in linux?

(just an idea) as soon as it happens, what does dmesg say?

Maybe the manual eject button is stuck (yours is from an older broken PC as mentioned)

May just wait at GRUB or/and at different break-points and check this first.
Or just remove the data cable from drive and check this?

I would do this.

I dont know. I will test it next time it happens.

The DVD drive is a new one. The hard disk is from the broken PC.
I will check the cable.
