I can't imagine that i'm the only one with problems concerning the subject. No printout, 100% cpu-time...
Are there principal changes in cups, which i didn't recognize, perhaps 1,2 weeks ago?
Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks |

the cups system is often updated for instance since 07. Feb was 3 times updated.
Try to dig through the logs, when something goes wrong they contain mostly usefull information. |

Hi seagull,
I experimented a bit and found a (quick'n'dirty) hack.
- Did a d-u to get newest cups (parallel consumes 100% CPU).
- Replaced /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel (in cups-filters_1.0.1-1) with the file from cups_1.5.0-13 / testing. The printer works again.
I will investigate further if I have some spare time.
Ciao Martin |

| Please don't do hacks like these, while eventually valuable for debugging, reverting to the whole package from testing is a much safer alternative (at least for CUPS, other packages might not like downgrading). |
