apache 2.2 is upgrading to apache 2.4

If you actually use apache2, let apache2.2-common go, as part of the upgrade to apache 2.4 is totally fine, but upgrading to apache 2.4 /may/will/ break your local webserver configuration in trivial and non-trivial ways, depending on your .config.

No specific details are available as yet, however it did impact aptosid.com for a short time and it was rolled back to 2.2 due to time restraints and waiting on some serious debugging.

Therefore be very very careful. If you rely on apache 2.2 give yourself enough time to debug potential issues when migrating to apache 2.4,, ( a sandbox via a VM may save you).

Don't expect this issue to solve itself by just trying to wait it out. Apache 2.4 changes the configuration syntax in some parts, that will require adaptions to your local apache config.
