Dear all,

I've started to have some font rendering problem (I assume) with iceweasel (21.0-1 from experimental) recently. Often, after scrolling, the fonts get blurry (looking almost bold face).

I've tried taking a screenshot, but it did not seem to fully capture it. (?) Anyway, you can see it here. You can see a little bit in "However a pure android experience..." (specially the word android). As I said, is more accentuated on my screen.

I have no problems with chromium...

Here is some info:

      Code:

root@debian[/home/finotti]# infobash -v3
Host/Kernel/OS  "debian" running Linux 3.9-5.slh.2-aptosid-amd64 x86_64 [ aptosid 2010-02 Κῆρες - kde-full - (201009132215) ]
CPU Info        2x Intel Core2 Duo E8400 @ 6144 KB cache flags( sse3 ht nx lm vmx ) clocked at [ 2999.845 MHz ]
Videocard       NVIDIA G86 [GeForce 8500 GT]     [  ]
Network cards   NVIDIA MCP55
                NVIDIA MCP55
                NETGEAR WNA WNA1100
Processes 216 | Uptime 2days | Memory 3370.0/7991.1MB | HDD WDC WD1500ADFD-0,ST31000528AS,WDC WD1001FALS-0,WDC WD10EALS-00Z Size 3150GB (55%used) | Client Shell | Infobash v3.46

I'm running KDE and I've tried "Use anti-aliasing" set to "system settings" and "enabled", but no difference.

Thanks!

Luis

I'm running Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20130620 Firefox/24.0 ID:20130620031010 CSet: 8ea92aeab783 which is nightly with no problems,

Have you tried changing fonts ?

Make sure in preferences > advanced > general > Use smooth scrolling > is unchecked

Can't see it anything suspicious on your screenshot, but I guess I know what you mean. Had "this" with 21/22 alphas at times, simply scrolling a bit up/down fixed it though. Haven't encountered it with 23 alpha so far, but I guess it isn't really iceweasels fault but GTK issues.

("DejaVu Serif" is my default front, size 16, smooth is enabled [the later being the default, can't remember changing that at least])

Thanks for the replies!

@DonKult: Scrolling did fix it indeed.

@piper: indeed, leaving smooth scrolling unchecked seems to have helped. Thanks for that. (It's funny that it had always been checked without this problem.)

Thanks!

Luis

It's a bug in libcairo2-1.12.14: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=707288

Hi, everyone. I just did a d-u an hour ago, and now my fonts look TOO good. What gives? Shocked

Laughing

They look the best I have ever seen them, and I don't think much of typography and artsy fartsy stuff like that. They look great. Very Happy
