Post subject: Account verification pop-up even without kmail2 started  PostPosted: 07.08.2013, 19:53

Since the upgrade to kmail2 I get a pop-up asking for the password of my mail account. From what I understand kmail2 no longer remembers your password and requires kwallet.

But even when kmail2 is not started, maybe 10 to 20 minutes after having started the computer there will be a pop-up asking for my password.
Which process or program does this? How can I make it stop?

This is the pop-up I'm talking about.

But I don't want to use wallet password storage.

ps says that "akonadi_pop3_resource" is running. Could that cause the pop-up even though there's no mail client running?

Yes, this resources was generated during the migration to KDE 4.10.5. You can remove it in the Akonadi configuration. Just enter akonadi into the search field of the kick-off menu.

Sorry, no good idea. The resource seems to contain the connection data. I have only IMAP-accounts. You might disable the automatic download in the Kmail configuration. Kmail is designed to work with Kwallet, and I would miss Kwallet.

Best regards,
Bequimão

Thanks Bequimão. It seems I'll have to use kwallet or a different mail client.
