sudo fw-detect returns nothing

lspci:
      Code:
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (rev 24)

Works fine after doing this manually:
      Code:
sudo apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi
sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi
sudo modprobe iwlwifi

The thing to do here is to tell us what module it uses and then we can add it to fw-data.ini so fw-detect will support it. Thanks.

Yes, I know it's really new; I just figured that this would be the best way to make sure it gets into 2013-02.

What do you mean by "what module it uses", other than iwlwifi? Let me know what you need and I will provide it.

The output of "lsmod" could tell us which modules are loaded on your system. Preferable in a state without firmware-iwlwifi installed.

The data file tells fw-detect to look out for the "iwlwifi" module (that is actually the last change to the data file 7 months ago), so "iwlwifi" isn't loaded if the firmware isn't there, just some "other" driver which loads "iwlwifi" if the files are there… (that is strange)

Also, in that state, look in "dmesg" for the error message telling you to get a firmware file. Which firmware file is it this card requires?

And check you actually have the latest aptosid-scripts package installed. Should be 0.4.19
