During the shutdown process this message appears:
"Killing all remainig processes ....failed"
Then pstree is printed on the screen showing all remaining processes (among them there are "wpa_supplicant" and several others).
I would like to post the pstree message but it shows up only for an instant before the computer halts. Are there any logs where I can find those shutdown messages?
Thanks |

I've managed to write down some of those processes:
portmap
cupsd
rsyslogd
wpa_supplicant
rc--startpar--sigs--pstree [something like that] |

I've solved the problem:
the cause was a misconfigured network printer. |

Same here, but I have no net-printer.
Can someone help me, too? |

Would also like to know what it can be, no network printer here too. And as far as I remember I don't get any output on the screen for the remaining processes. |

[EDIT:
sorry, no here is all ok. I took a fast photo series and checked the screen while downshutting. I do not have that message, but I know/remind I saw it before] |

Look in /var/log/syslog for messages about which processes are failing to die.
I'm getting processes failing to freeze when trying to suspend to ram or disk; I suspect a kernel bug and maybe it's related to the problems you are having. In the case of processes failing to freeze, there are some diagnostics in /var/log/syslog |
