Hi there,

I have a problem with the kernel mentioned above. I'm using an external USB-harddisk with a separate power-supply. I can mount and use the disk without any problem, but when i unmount it via the KDE-device-notifier and switch off the power my kde-session ends and i get the following at the console:

      Code:

This is reproducible, and it does not happen with the last used kernel (2.6.36-0.slh.8-aptosid-686)

Same problem with aptosid 64 bit.
When I switch off the external hard disk, the system reboots.

I'm also using 2.6.36-1.slh.1-aptosid-686. When I switch off my hard drive the kde-session does not restart, but a couple of messages in the system tray:

I can reproduce it and think to have found the cause, a potential fix is currently building.

New kernels uploaded, I'm pretty sure that this issue is fixed now. Thanks a lot for this very detailed bug report, it really helped with the debugging.

Thanks a lot for the very quick fix, slh Wink

It is solved for me too, but during kernel install I gor 2 strange messages:

      Code:
i2c i2c_2: readbytes: ack/nak timeout
drm:[radeon_dvi_detected] *ERROR* DVI-0-1: Proved a monitor but bo/invalid EDIT]

The monitor works in the normal resolution and refresh rate without problem.
I mounded/unmounded and switched off an external HD without problem.

Regards
