Hello everyone. Because the technology is developing and sometimes the manufacturers of the latest devices do not apport Linux drivers, it is good to have a list of devices that are already tested and running on Linux and can be constantly updated. So I want to start this list to the USB Wi-Fi and I hope they keep adding more:

1. TP-LINK USB Wi-Fi N 300 Mbps, TL-WN821N

Works with the driver Atheros ar9170usb, as indicated in the manual, "Firmware drivers non - free" part and installed as mentioned in "Setting up for WiFi Roaming with wpa" part.

The big problem with these lists is how quickly they get outdated (and therefore becoming dangerous advice), especially if vendors put different wlan chipsets into revisions of the same model name/ number, which is often not externally visible. I know a particular model from a well known (large) vendor, which has seen 6 indistinguishable revisions over the last 4 year - incorporating 5 different incompatible chipsets from 3 different chipset manufacturers.

Add that most of them are supported in Linux/Aptosid today - so, a negative list would be much less work and easier to maintain. Makes much more sense.
Greetings,
Chris

It would be far better if you could confirm that the device/driver combo works and get it added to: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Devices/USB
