kworker consumes nearly 100% cpu after upgrade to latest kernel: Linux 2.6.36-0.slh.1-aptosid-amd64 x86_64
Any hint?

I now tried the 32bit 2.6.36-0.slh.1-aptosid-686 kernel on a 1-core machine. Here everything is fine.
So maybe it is a problem of 64bit, multi-core, hmm, or something else... Sorry, cannot help. |

hmm, if you were using Broadcom b44 ethernet, I'd have a suspicion, but tg3 shouldn't be affected. Anything else sticking out in dmesg?
Testing without binary nvidia modules would likely be more meaningful as well. |

| no change when unloading the nvidia module and tg3 module or both. Can't find anything unusual in dmesg. |

yes, I think it is. I read this and some other complaints.
Until there is no change I'm using the 2.6.35-7.slh.4-aptosid-amd64 kernel and that works fine.
