I'm running the xfce edition of aptosid, and would like to replace Thunar with Nautilus. Everything I could find on the internet came down to "symlink /usr/bin/nautilus to /usr/bin/Thunar!"

Yes, this works, but it screws up the desktop and is an extremely hacky solution.

Why do I want to bother with this instead of just manually opening Nautilus when I need it? Simple: every app with an "open folder" option opens the folder in Thunar. Firefox, Chrome, etc. with their "show in folder" download manager options, and most importantly opening folders with Gnome-Do, all default to Thunar.

Any ideas?
