with the freeze almost over and debian release on the way, it will still take some time for sid to have latest and greatest again, as we are looking forward to months of teansitions, breakage and the like. so, whoever is missing some pet packages in newer versions might be happy to hear that e.g digikam in 1.8.0-1 and basket 1.81-1 are sitting in experimental in usable versions. also kmymoney 4.5-2 sits there waiting for exposure.

digikam is unbuildable on debian infrastructure currently as it requires kde-4.5 dev-packages and is therefore only available in i386 as this is the arch the debian maintainer uploaded the package (which is by itself bad as it indicates that the maintainer hasn't build it in a clean chroot, but its experimental so who cares…)

Will the new digikam work on the KDE 4.5 that's in the KDE QT repo? That repo seems to have a jumble of different versions of KDE components though

Hopefully soon we'll have more fun with Sid once Squeeze goes stable. Smile

Sid has been pretty stagnant for the past year and the sid packages are getting pretty outdated

Right -- perhaps aptosid users can plan a Debian 6 release party! Wink
