Hi,
when using the 2.6.37-0.slh.16-aptosid-amd64 kernel, I can now only choose minimum or maximum display brightness on my laptop.
When I use 2.6.37-0.slh.11-aptosid-amd64 I can set the display brightness to any value in between as well.
Laptop:
Asus UL30A
Graphics:
Intel GM45
Might also be interesting, rc.local:
xset s off && xset -dpms
mfg

Edit: I also have the Problem with 2.6.37-0.slh.18-aptosid-amd64 |

Hi,
I had a similar issue.
I'm using Laptop Asus UL30A with Intel Graphics Card and aptosid-amd64.
It seems for me that the reason is a kernel patch to drm/i915/panel. This patch is applied to aptosid (and debian) since 2.6.37-13.
Removing this single patch in 2.6.37-0.slh.23 and compiling the kernel let these issues vanish for my UL30A.
If one still has some 2.6.37-0.slh.x with x<13 one could copy the i915.ko into the new kernel lib ("/lib/modules/2.6.37-0.slh.23-aptosid-amd64/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915.ko").
At least this was working for me.
Sincerely
Wolfgang |
