Now I'd bet the QT transition will mark the eventual arrival of KDE 4.6 to start bringing KDE to the bleeding edge again

Aha, in this transition, if libqt4-dev is installed, d-u wants to remove libqt4-multimedia.
It's OK to let it go. Or, it's OK to remove both.
# apt-get remove libqt4-dev libqt4-multimedia

Seems nobody has affected...
