Anytime a try to load a subtitle file in xine (Open --> Subtitle) the program hangs and I am forced to kill it. I haven't figured a way to load subtitle files in xine (actually xine-ui, but I've tried also some terminal "ways" like "xine file.avi::file.srt", "xine file.avi file.srt" with no luck so far).

Anyone using xine or xine-ui could give any hint on this issue?

edit: It is about .srt, .sub or .idx, not dvd subtitles. I searched a lot of topics, seems like this is not a xine feature?

edit2: Seems like .sub file is working with .ogg. Still no luck with other formats.

edit3: the solution was

      Code:
xine X.avi#subtitle:X.srt

xine still hangs if I try to manually load a sub file, but I consider this problem solved
