Acer Aspire One runs aptosid smoothly after an easy installation.

Are you sure? What model? I have the model 751 and there are many problems for the graphic card since you must use vesa or (with some important changes) fbdev, since the drivers with 2D or 3D acceleration are not available in debian (I think the name of this driver is poulsba or something like this).

Maybe some other models are working better.

Model KAV60 (read in the "quick guide"), or D250-0 DB (in the back label). As said, I had no problems with installation and the graphic card (Mobile Intel 945GSE) runs well but not 3D acceleration (not tried). The only "problem" was the Win7 OS which comes, velis nolis, with the machine.

I can inform you all the software profile; ask for it, please.

Regards.

My Toshiba NB205 runs aptosid with no issues, but I don't think that model is available today. I would suppose the NB305 would be a safe choice. They have Intel graphics, so all desktop effects might not work. Mine won't run the cube effect -- maybe that will change with KDE 4.6.

Fair warning -- speakers on netbooks aren't great -- don't plan on wonderful audio. Headphones are fine, though.

It runs on 64-bit as well, but flashplugin has hickups there.
