Hi,
just got the old sidux article moved over (renamed) to aptosid:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aptosid
I've edited some parts and put 2010-02 in - but we need a screenshot. Since my computers use LXDE it would be nice if someone else can take an (official) KDE-shot and put it into commons.w.o.
Ciao Martin |

How do you move wikipedia entry to other?
and if user search "sidux", they are redirected to "aptosid"?
(sorry for dummy question. but if I get good answer, I'll edit Japanese page.) |

IIRC you can always edit wikipages (otherwise it would be quite ..errr.. senseless). Open the page in edit-mode, copy the content and paste it to the other. But be aware of any copyrights, if there are such. |

but "copying" (so that the content is duplicated in 'sidux' and 'aptosid')
and "moving" or "renaming" (so that the old content of 'sidux' is now hold in 'aptosid')
are different operation, aren't they? I was asking how to do the latter...
or, from the wording of horo, I thought the latter is possible and desirable. |

No, don't cut and paste because wikipedia loses the edit history. Use the function to move one article over to a new name. Maybe it's possible only if you are an editor (>300 edits)? This function is called with <alt><ctrl>m on the page you want to move.
A link pointing from sidux -> aptosid is created automagically
wait...
I've just moved the japanese page - muchan please edit http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aptosid (it sounds greek to mee )

I just edited the page. (at minmal).
- I don't know how to update the logo/screen shot, so I left sodix ones.
- When I saw English page the last time, sidux's release record was still there.
now, it's removed? if sidux entry stays somewhere, it would be there but if
it's renamed, information is lost... so far I didn't remove them from Japanese
page, just I put the word "sidux" before release under sidux's name.
- well, I don't intend to maintain the Wikipedia page myself.

le site http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aptosid a besoin d'une révision.
Ciao Martin
EDIT: of course Aptosid - thanks muchan! It was my copy and paste error "...Aptosid a besoin..." turned into "...Aptosida besoin..."
