Hello. Smile This guide (http://manual.aptosid.com/en/gpu-en.htm) says, that I have to apt-get something to install the graphics driver; But I get an error message:

root@sidbook:/home/kasu# apt-get install nvidia-kernel-source nvidia-kernel-common dmakms
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package nvidia-kernel-source
E: Unable to locate package nvidia-kernel-common
root@sidbook:/home/kasu#

Same with some other packages, e.g. Sauerbraten. Do I have to add any special repositories before installing the nvidia software? This is my first debianoid system.

Thank you in advance,
Kasu

You have to adapt the debian.list source to include non-free and contrib. We do not include them on default. The how-to is simple:

did you enabled the non-free repositories? In my /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.list i have:

      Code:

deb http://cdn.debian.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://cdn.debian.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free

p.s. sorry, double answer

It's me again. When I try to start the game Sauerbraten, I get following error message:

kasu@sidbook:~$ sauerbraten
Using home directory: /home/kasu/.sauerbraten
init: sdl
init: net
init: game
init: video: mode
Unable to create OpenGL screen: Couldn't find matching GLX visual
kasu@sidbook:~$

Please help me; What does this mean?

Sounds like your first nvidia setup.
First, add towo's repo to your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.list as follows:

deb http://frickelplatz.de/debian/ sid main contrib non-free

then:
      Code:

apt-get update
apt-get install frickelplatz-archive-keyring frickelplatz-keyring frickelplatz-keyrings

Then follow all the steps in the manual here:

http://manual.aptosid.com/en/gpu-en.htm

Do all the above as root (init 3) then restart X with init 5.
Open a terminal and run glxgears to check if glx is working.
