I just bought an LG BH10LS Blu-Ray burner and was quite shocked about the burning time: Although I chose the quite conservative 2x speed it was burning on average with 0.4x which took 4 hours in total!
Even with my old DVD burner I never got a speed much more than 4x which took about 15 per disc.
Is this "normal"? |

| mmm..you could try nerolinux 4, I know, it is closed source (and sure unsupported from aptosid) but if nothing is working... You can uninstall it later if you want. |

I've burned Blu-ray discs (for data backup) before and it does take awhile. Many factors -- drive speed, Blu-ray disc type (SL/DL, BD-R/BD-RE, LTH) etc -- all factor in as well as software support.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of Blu-ray disc were you using? |

| Thanks blackhole! With Nero a Blu-Ray Disc takes less than one hour. Although it costs 18 Euro I think that's worth it. |
