      Code:
linux-aptosid-2.6 (2.6.38-22) unstable; urgency=low

  * set ABI to 3.slh.5.
  * import 2.6.38.4-rc1.
  * default to nohwcrypt for ath9k, to circumvent serious performance
    regression in 2.6.38 (http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31452).

Hello there!

The default to nohwcrypt fixes the performance issue, but sadly leads to complete freezes, with Print+REISUB as the only way out.

I found similar reports on the net (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/arch-29/ath9k-driver-unstable-in-kernel-2-6-38-a-874747/) but no solution yet.

My workaround is compiling and installing the ath9k module from linuxwireless.org (the 2011-03-31 version, because the newer ones won't compile).

Anybody else here have this issue?

Greetings from Berlin,
schlumbl[/code]

I'm not having the issue with my ath9k-based USB network adapter on 64-bit aptosid:
      Code:
NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271]

Maybe it's only a subset of ath9k cards?

Hopefully both issues are fixed now (and no, despite the name USB based ath9k_htc devices don't have that much in common with PCIe based ath9k cards).

No more freezes with 2.6.38-4.slh.3-aptosid-amd64.

Thank you, slh!
