I noticed the presence of "dkms" in the list of packages to be installed, is it normal? In case, will it conflict with dmakms or create some other problem?

dkms is usually not a problem, however after it is automatically installed I suggest:

      Code:

apt-get purge --remove dkms xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
m-a a-i nvidia-kernel-source
apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-glx

That would remove nvidia-kernel-dkms. Is it OK to let it go?

It is ok, but you should type

      Code:
echo nvidia-kernel-source >> /etc/default/dmakms

to activate dmakms. If not you have to use
      Code:
m-a a-i nvidia-kernel-source

after each kernel update.
