Hello.

I have a nvidia GT220 and a screen Acer H235HL and I'm having problems with the sound. In systemsettings, if I enable the "show advanced devices" option I see four extra devices of the HDMI card (I attach a screenshot). The device marked with the 7 can play the test sound, so I put it the first.

But with this change only Amarok can play sound. Neither Kaffeine nor iceweasel, Chromium or Rekonq play any kind of sound. I edited a .asoundrc like this

pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm "dmix:0,7"
}

but I still can't play any sound. Only amarok, as I said.

I know my English is very bad, but I hope you could understand me. Thanks.

Just add that I'm having the same problem with the onboard sound card: only Phonon apps (amarok, Dragon, KDE sounds) are able to play sounds...

Did they run simultaneously?
In my case I can only use VLC or Iceweasel, because they both share the same VLC-Phonon backend.
