When you google Pyfll, it can be daunting to wade through page after page that don't just say you can apt-get install-gui sorta-stuff so thanx for the above... I didn't see Pyfll in synaptic and that is what I read one needs. Didn't think of just typing in fll-live etc.
1. Would I need to install all of the above? I mean which aren't there already?
2. fll-live-initramfs fails to install
'Installing this package is dangerous and not supported!
Aborting installation.'
Is FLI what I would need to make an iso that I could burn to cd?
3. Would fll be allowed in an Aptosid based distro? The installer has an Aptosid logo, ehh...
4. Sorry one more- where is the option to make an iso? Or is it only to USB?
Anyway, Thanx for at least pointing me somewhere
Best,
Xeta |

| For creating an aptosid-based iso, you need pyfll, which you can only get via svn checkout. |

Hola!
Hey, thanx to those who've said kind words. I really appreciate it. I knew Remastersys wasn't supported but I didn't think it was discouraged and once you set a system free, what difference does it make if something works? Why would you discourage a user who is just remastering their own system. I'm not even talking about making a distro to share. Seems to me you should just say- "have at it".
None said "go away". I think I was clear about it. You can talk in "Script & Dragons" about your ideas, you might find others interested in the very same ideas, and you might receive critics. You also received some tips about legal and technical issues. You got hints on how to do a proper self-mastered Aptosid variant, too. Please understand all that as constructive critics, and not personal.
We (the Aptosid team) are legally and technicially responsible for what is published at aptosid.com, and what we really do not want to see in our support forums is linking to remastered isos, please respect this wish.
Greetings,
Chris |

At least I am happy that I was not the only one that thought the tone is a bit off again.
Maybe you should put "don't feel intimidated by the tone of this forum" in the terms and conditions for this forum. |

Good Morning.

I know and I said I would respect your wishes.
If I may ask, how are you legally responsible for a link posted by a forum member when it is clear that the distro is not an Aptosid release and you've made it clear you don't support it? I know, it doesn't matter.
Anyway, for anyone who cares to know remastersing the 64 from scratch- the live dvd still ejects when you click restart or shutdown- but doesn't go further- that's no biggie imo. The 32bit does, so ya got me.
I'll try and get the 32 up by tomorrow.
Best,
Xeta
P.S. If anyone else messes with Remastersys and has more knowledge to share I'd love to know. |

not at all.
but i gave up on talking legal issues with this team. their last retreat is always: you and all the lawyers in this world can say whatever you want, as long as we feel legaly threatenend, we will keep things as they are.

It is always advisable to to do things in simple and straight ways, especially for products that are
supposed to run and not let anything in that can create disturbance in the main work.
Not even the question why.
