The upgrade from sidux to aptosid did work well except for the upgrade to GRUB 2.
How can I upgrade from legacy GRUB to GRUB 2 ?

During the dist-upgrade you had the choice to upgrade to GRUB 2 or do it later. I took this second option, but forgot to write down the command that allowed upgrading GRUB afterwards |

Ok, I try the procedure in the manual.
What seems strange to me is that during this dist-upgrade from sidux to aptosid, the old menu.lst didn't get updated (no mention of latest kernel 2.6.35), the grub.cfg file is up-to-date though.
So when i boot with grub 1, i dont get the option to boot the latest kernel.

Hello devil,
I solved the problem temporarily by manually editing menu.lst
I'll wait for the first aptosid release to do a clean install.
PS.: many thanks to you and the whole aptosid-team for getting the distro up and running again. Good luck !

Its
Code:
upgrade-from-grub-legacy
as root. (if i remember correctly)
Unfortunately it isn't written in the manual as far as i can read… |
