I'm an ex Ubuntu-Mint-Pinguy converted user and I have a simple question: Is it possible to use Gufw is Aptosid? It's very simple and I know it well. I find Firestarter complicated.

You can install it and find it out
apt-get install gufw

I tried but only can run it as root. When I restarted didn't see it running in the Task Manager so it didn't started automatically like Firestarter. Any help???

I don't know gufw, but i guess you will need root right for every configuration system for firewalls as that is the business of the administrator and should be changed at will by a "normal" user (or by a program action with the rights of the user). Otherwise a troyaner on your computer could disable the firewall without needing to gain root first…
Regarding the not starting at boot: I remember that ufw has a debconf question for it and i am not sure about the default, but it could be 'no', so try as root and answer yes:
dpkg-reconfigure ufw
