This is weird...I just did an apt-get upgrade and dist-upgrade fails trying to fetch anything:
Failed to fetch http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/ ... _amd64.deb Cannot initiate the connection to ftp.debian.org:80 (2001:610:1908:a000::149:226). - connect (101: Network is unreachable) [IP: 2001:610:1908:a000::149:226 80]
Tried to do another update and now I get this:
W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/sid/Release.gpg Cannot initiate the connection to ftp.debian.org:80 (2001:610:1908:a000::149:226). - connect (101: Network is unreachable) [IP: 2001:610:1908:a000::149:226 80] |

Thats has nothing todo with ipv6 as the mirrors who support it support also the "old" ipv4.
ftp.debian.org is a pretty generic one, with a pretty huge rotation-list so it is possible that you got a broken one this time. It's better to use a ftp.XX.debian.org where XX is your locale like "de" for germany, "us" for the USA, "fr" for france and so on. |

yes, ive seen this error, when the route to repo is broken
its nothing to do with ipv6, thats just some odd apt excuse for not working
u can check ipv6 here http://test-ipv6.com/ |

| Thanks...I thought IPv6 was backwards compatible too, so it had me puzzled. I switched to ftp.us.debian.org and it's fine now.. |
