Aptosid should install without any problems on all netbooks. Acer does good ones, my personal favorite are Lenovo Ideapads.
Greetings,
Chris

thx so far.

actually the question is, should i go for Intel, which probably work out of the box, or AMD which seems to be much faster than the comparable intel-version?

and another point is, that only a few netbooks comes with a matte display which should be the better choice.

I just picked up the Acer 722 AMD Dual core C-50, 2gb Ram and ATI catalyst graphic card. Not sure if anyone has had any success with it (nothing in either of the threads I found on netbooks) but can't see why it won't work. But my initial attempt ended with a borked screen using a live boot, so I didn't get very far. This was a cursory attempt, I just grabbed a live usb I had of Aptosid and stuck it in. Before trying in earnest I thought I might as well see if there was any advice out there. Any comments or hints would be appreciated. FWIW I did try #! and other than not seeing the wifi the live usb ran fine so I know that will work. Obviously would much rather run Aptosid if I can.
