Hello.

Well, the subject says it all, I just want to use software stored in the non-free and contrib repositories, but anytime I change one of the .list-files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, apt-get update tells me that the file is malformatted or something ...

Can you please help me?

Just change that to:

root@sidbox:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.list
deb http://cdn.debian.net/debian/ sid main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://cdn.debian.net/debian/ sid main

Don't change the aptosid.list file (as aptosid has no contrib or non-free sections).

Ah okay, that seemed to be my mistake ...

What does the second line stand for? I thought, lines beginning with a #, are just comments and not necessary for the essential content? If so, then why is it there?

The second line is for grabbing from source from debian. It is the source code of the applications and the files needed to create a .deb package out of them.
