Hi,

First of all, congrats to the smooth switcheroo to aptosid. I first kind of disliked the name (sidux had a nice ring to it, you have to admit), but I guess it has to grow on me Smile

I want to install wine 1.3.3, and see that the winehq repos only have 1.1.42 and the frickleplatz repo only has 1.3.2(?).

I thought about this way:
apt-get build-dep wine
<download>
su
make install

The thing is: how can I uninstall this wine build later? Is there an easy way to create a deb package for a newer wine version so that "apt-get remove wine" will remove my custom deb?

Thanks

PS: If there's some semi-official repo that carries the latest wine version, this is fine as well (much quicker than building it myself...)

      Code:
towo@Druck-Buero:~$ apt-cache policy wine
wine:
  Installiert: 1.3.2-1.frickel.1
  Kandidat:    1.3.2-1.frickel.1
  Versionstabelle:
 *** 1.3.2-1.frickel.1 0
        500 http://frickelplatz.de/debian/ sid/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1.1.24-2 0
          1 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ experimental/main amd64 Packages
     1.0.1-3 0
        500 http://ftp.at.debian.org/debian/ sid/main amd64 Packages
        500 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ testing/main amd64 Packages

Try this.

Moved to fitting category - using Wine from outside Debian is not something average users should go for.
Greetings,
Chris

Hi, Im trying to get an up to date wine version too. I've tried to build wine from source but when running ./configure an error pops up saying I don't have the required 32 bit libraries.

If this frickelplatz has some built deb binaries, it would be great Smile

however when adding the repository you guys mentioned:

deb http://frickelplatz.de/debian/ sid/main amd64 Packages

I get a 404 not found error.

going to his site: ttp://frickelplatz.de/debian I notice the directory structure has changed. But I fail miserably to get it to work, no matter how many variations I try. I still don't quite understand how the syntax of a deb repository work. Why can't it just be:

http://frickelplatz.de/debian/dists/sid ... ary-amd64/

and period?? Much simpler without seemingly random spaces between the forward slashes.

Anyways can somebody be so kind as to post a working frickelplatz repository????

Thank you very much.

The repo is down.

No one affiliated with aptosid shut it down.

The owner of the server went underground for awhile.

Devil is working on an alternative.
