      Code:

(06:05:00 PM) avih: hi, i think i found a bug at the install sequence, which results in an invalid /boot/grub/device.map file. whom should i report it to?
(06:05:23 PM) avih: well, partially invalid. it can boot, but can't upgrade kernel
(06:05:45 PM) avih: FYI: the details:

(06:05:58 PM) avih: 1. laptop without a CD drive.
(06:06:08 PM) avih: 2. I boot fromiso from flashdrive #1
(06:06:17 PM) avih: 3. i install full into flashdrive #2
(06:06:47 PM) avih: 4. device.map now has 3 lines:
(06:07:02 PM) avih: - the first line without a (HD*) prefix
(06:07:22 PM) avih: line 2 and 3 reference the 2 flash drives as HD1 and HD2
(06:07:42 PM) avih: (the first line references the built-in HDD)
(06:08:10 PM) avih: so it boots, but when trying to update the kernel, it complains about missing parenthesis at the device.map file (of the first line)
(06:08:41 PM) avih: manually editing this file and removing all lines but the one which references the instll flash drive, and setting the prefix to (HD0) fixes it
