Post subject: fdisk -l becomes slow, once VirtualBox Manager has been run.  PostPosted: 29.01.2012, 07:02

I experience the following strange issue:

1) Reboot the computer
2) Enter KDE, open Konsole, login as root
3) run 'fdisk -l' in Konsole. All is normal, fdisk info shown immediately
4) Start VirtualBox manager. Start one of the VM's; then close it ("save state")
5) go back to Konsole, run 'fdisk -l' again.

Now from step 5 further on, the command 'fdisk -l' always hangs about 3-4 seconds, before spitting out the info for hard disks.
It is somehow related to running VirtualBox (step 4).

I have the feeling that VB loads some additional disk modules or something which cause fdisk to hang for 3-4 seconds.

No other problems detected but does not look normal.

Anyone else experiencing it?

P.S. I run VB OSE; aptosid fully dist-updated.
