(using kde 4.7.4 i did a du)

when using kmix, in the notification area i have no volume slider, (it just displays "IEC958") and attempt to choose a master chanel open an empty window (i have "HD-audio generic" displayed, but nothing to choose for master chanel)

hi

i had same issue on same laptop dell vostro 3555, found this :

stopped kmix (removed from tray), and after that remove the app

      Code:

#apt-get remove --purge kmix
#apt-get update

checked kmix is removed by trying to launch it from kmenu/multimedia (ok)
installed pulseaudio and AFTER reinstalled kmix :

      Code:

#apt-get install pulseaudio
#apt-get install kmix

restarted kmix, now everything is fine
