After a recent du I get the error on boot

"udev (583) failed to execute lib/udev/mpt-probe"

the boot continues and appears Ok. Today I saw there was a new kernel and udev but after a du the problem is till there.

makke, thanks that fixed it. I did check the forum before posting but obviously did not go back over a year, I wonder why this has only affected me now.

It "effects" many people, just that it is a "random" message passing by very quickly at boot if you have an USB-device attached (beware: some laptops have "internal" devices attached over USB). If you don't have an MPT-supporting device attached you will not notice anything (beside this message) so most people just don't care.
I for example don't care as this message appears every time I have my usb-mouse attached to the laptop at boot (my mouse is obviously not a supported MPT device). So nothing to worry about.

(I changed the title to help people finding this thread future)
