dist-upgrade this morning brought a new akonadi-server (1.9.2-1).
This failed to start when I went back to RunLevel 5.
I had to change the akonadi backend from sqlite to mysql and the driver in ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc
from sqlite3 to QMYSQL

A better workaround would be
      Code:
sed -i s/QSQLITE3/QSQLITE/g ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc
for each user, but this is still a bug (#708007) in the new akonadi-backend-sqlite version.

Compared to akonadi-backend-sqlite, akonadi-backend-mysql is much heavier on system ressources.

Thank you for the workaround! I ran into the same problem. First try crashed.

      Code:
$ akonadictl start

After starting a new session akonadi worked again.

This bug is fixed with today's upload of akonadi/ akonadi-backend-sqlite 1.9.2-2, configuration changes are no longer required.

If you did modify your akonadi configuration as depicted above, please revert it to its original state:
      Code:
sed -i -e s/QSQLITE$/\&3/ -e s/\\[QSQLITE\\]/\\[QSQLITE3\\]/ akonadiserverrc
