After upgrading network-manager from 0.9.8.0-5 to 0.9.8.8-4, the icon for network-manager-gnome disappeared from my taskbar and I was unable to change any sort of network setting graphically.

Downgrading to 0.9.8.0-5 fixed the problem for now. This happens both in XFCE and LXDE.

Rebooted after trying to upgrade again and saw this in /var/log/messages

      Code:
Mar 30 14:56:41 dougmobile kernel: [103738.854552] NetworkManager[23911]: segfault at 24 ip 000000000046f328 sp 00007fffce538bf0 error 4 in NetworkManager[400000+106000]

That probably has something to do with it.

And apparently I'm not alone.
