Hiya,

I guess it's not, for I'm not getting any X after upgrading.
On the other hand this is a very old laptop, so maybe it's different for others? <Neutral

xserver-xorg-video-modesetting is now part of the xserver itself, so it will not come back as separate package.
Sometimes it helps to read upstream changelogs.
