I found a radiostation, that plays cool music in mp3-format. Under wimamp there was a plugin, so I remember, that allows to save automatically the single tracks, and best of all, renamed the files after the mp3tags transmitted.

Is this possible under Linux?

Try installing good old kstreamripper (KDE frontend for the console tool streamripper).

The configuration should be straight forwarded - as it has only 3 options. Wink
In Destination dir each radio station will get its own directory including complete songs.
As tune in command i have 'x-terminal-emulator -e **removed** <url>' as to be able to see the output is good for stream "debugging".

Finding good radio stations is a problem through as not many send good information (no tags, start or stop to early, include ads, news…).

Some working examples, but beware, my taste isn't well defined - i listen to basically everything depending on my mood:
frequence3.fr: http://firewall.frequence3.net/listen.pls (french, but plays everything)
1.FM: http://64.62.252.132:8075/ (us charts top40)
Life radio: http://liferadio.liwest.at:8000/studio30 (german, plays mostly 80th)

I am open for other station recommendations Smile

I tested it, and so I remebered, that the old winamp plugin was also called dtreamripper. Maybe the same project...

As far as it is now working, the cuts are okay. The station plays 2s braks between the songs.

Thanks for your tips Smile
