Hi, I was wondering how can I add shortcuts to programs in the main taskbar, left of the 4 desktops icons. Not gadgets, shortcuts to programs.
The second problem, how can I remove menu entries for software that I removed? For instance, I opened the menu updater and ckecke the nano editor. After a while, I removed the nano editor but I still got the entry in the start menu, editors > nano editor. And this is not the only example.
The third problem, I installed 7zip-full, with the apt-get command from console, as root. In the package manager it displays to be installed, but no menu entry. How can I execute it?
Thanks! |

klick on kmenu, navigate to the app, rightclick, add to panel. position can be moved by clicking on the symbol all to the right , putting the mouse on the icon to move, a cross appears, drag it to its place, let go.
to remove icons, rightclick it...

maybe you can try drag&drop it from the Kmenu to exactly where you want it. Works for me. |

Right-click the Cashew in the upper right corner of your screen, choose "Unlock Widgets", then do as devil said. When you are finished adding shortcuts to panel, lock widgets. |

Yeah, in needed to be unlocked first, in order to see the option. Thanks. Two more problems though:
- how can I remove menu entries for software that I removed? For instance, I opened the menu updater and ckecke the nano editor. After a while, I removed the nano editor but I still got the entry in the start menu, editors > nano editor. And this is not the only example.

care to help ? |

To remove an item, right-click the blue "K" button on the end of your panel, and choose "Menu Editor". Browse it to the menu group, then the item, highlight the item, click the red X "Delete" and say "good-bye".
To add an item, use the "Add Item" button. |

I am not able to find menu editor . Can you be more specific, please? Thanks! |

I have installed 7zip but there is no graphical interface. If I write in a terminal, 7z it lists a command line list. But is there an interface for it ? |

$apt-cache search 7zip
lbzip2 - fast, multi-threaded bzip2 utility
p7zip-full - 7z and 7za file archivers with high compression ratio
p7zip - 7zr file archiver with high compression ratio
liblzma-dev - XZ-format compression library - development files
liblzma2 - XZ-format compression library
p7zip-rar - non-free rar module for p7zip
liblzma0 - XZ-format compression library
liblzma1 - XZ-format compression library
$apt-cache show p7zip
Package: p7zip
...
Description: 7zr file archiver with high compression ratio
p7zip is the Unix port of 7-Zip, a file archiver that archives with
very high compression ratios.
.
p7zip provides:
- /usr/bin/7zr
a standalone minimal version of the 7-zip tool that only handles
7z archives. 7z compression is 30-50% better than ZIP compression.
- /usr/bin/p7zip
a gzip like wrapper around 7zr.
.
p7zip-full provides 7z and 7za which support more compression formats.
