Hello:

I have done all this. I am getting the correct kernel, and there is no longer any trace of the sidux images or headers.

But, I am still getting an initial grub screen with sidux choices which then chains into a grub2 screen.

the chainload is just a security measure. if eerything boots fine, you may run as root:
      Code:
upgrade-from-grub-legacy
which finishes off the grub2 installation.
