KDE SC 4.6 was released - http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.6

From debian-kde irc:
"KDE SC 4.6 is work in process, will appear on http://qt-kde.debian.net/ first"

Is it known, when the freeze is over, if 4.6 will go into unstable (sid) or will it be a version 4.5.x?

Freeze will be over after Squeeze release (5-6 february). Then KDE will have to pass NEW first, then be scheduled for a transition. I think a few weeks after realese Squeezy, new KDE hit SID. No 4.5, will be 4.4=>4.6.

Lets hope for the best! I really look forward to KDE 4.6.
But with nearly all new (xorg, KDE lots of other apps) rough times will also come up Smile

Once Squeeze is released, there most likely be a lot of major transitions coming that need to be in place before KDE SC 4.6 makes the transition to Sid. My guess is like in the next 2 months after Squeezy's released then sid'll have the latest and greatest. Probably by then we'll see KDE 4.6.1 or so.

Yep, once squeeze goes live, we'll be in for some very bumpy times as Sid will become his misbehaving self again Smile

WOW, KDE 4.6 looks really nice! And finally it has it's own Oxygen themes for GTK! No need to use QTCurve anymore!

So maybe we will get it in July... Smile

(This is just a joke! I have no idea how conservative the maintainer is... But with Debian things are not done by schedule, as we all know. In any case, it is always better to expect the worse and perhaps be "pleasantly surprised".)
