Logout of a current user on multiuser installations causes 'no signal' on AMD 64 and 32 bit
This is a heads up only for this card, so far:
Videocard - ATI Redwood [Radeon HD 5670] X.Org 1.9.4
apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-radeon
xserver-xorg-video-radeon:
Installed: 1:6.14.0-1
Candidate: 1:6.14.0-1
Logging out a user to login another user, renders the mouse, keyboard and monitor dead.
Switch user, however, works as intended.
To rescue the situation, ssh into the AMD box and as root:
init 3
init 5 && exit
[You could hard reset, but that should be a last resort]
To date the suspect culprits are mesa and the premature switch to gallium and most likely related to any kind of mode changes. |
